The Wolfsburg-based Volkswagen Group is one of the world's leading automakers and the largest automaker in Europe.

In difficult economic conditions, the Group's vehicle deliveries increased to 10.97 million in 2019 (2018: 10.8 million). The global passenger car market share increased to 12.9 percent (2018: 12.2 percent). The Group's turnover in 2019 was 252.6 billion euros (2018: 236 billion euros). Profits after taxes in the past year were 14.0 billion euros (2018: 12.2 billion euros).

The group includes twelve brands from seven European countries: Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Audi, SEAT, ŠKODA, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche, Ducati, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Scania and MAN. Each brand has its own character and operates independently in the market. The range extends from motorcycles to small cars and luxury class vehicles.

The Commercial Vehicles division mainly includes the development, production and sale of light commercial vehicles, trucks and buses of the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Scania and MAN brands, as well as businesses with the corresponding original parts and services. The cooperation between MAN and Scania commercial vehicle brands is coordinated in GRUPO TRATON. The range in the commercial vehicle sector starts with vans and extends to heavy trucks and buses. In the Power Engineering area, the business is combined with large diesel engines, turbo machines, special gearboxes, drive technology components and test systems.

The Volkswagen Group also offers a wide range of financial services. These include dealer and customer financing, leasing, banking and insurance business, and fleet management.

The group operates 124 manufacturing plants in 20 countries in Europe and 11 countries in America, Asia and Africa. Worldwide, 671,205 employees produce vehicles, handle vehicle-related services, or work in other business areas. The Volkswagen Group offers its vehicles in 153 countries.
