The tire Mud-Terrain T / A KM 2 (KM means, main feature: mud traction, KM = Key feature: Mud traction and the number 2 refers to the second generation of KM tires) belongs to the category Maximum Traction Out of Road and was developed for drivers who drive “lifted” vehicles and carry out off-road activities, such as climbing rocks (rock climbing) or any other activity that represents a cross-country challenge. The Mud-Terrain T / A KM2 can overcome almost any obstacle in its path and combines greater traction and ability to remove mud than its predecessor. It has a quieter and less noisy ride than the one found, usually in this type of tire.

The Mud-Terrain T / A KM2 cross-country rubber compound is molded into a tread inspired by the Krawler T / A KX and features deep, independent blocks that can clean themselves and inclined linear flexible areas, which they provide the necessary elasticity to overcome cross-country obstacles, when tires are used at lower air pressure and low speeds.

The internal structure includes twin steel straps with a shell and Krawler TEK flanks from BFGoodrich. Krawler TEK consists of three components: a rubber compound in the flank blocks resistant to cuts and scratches; BFGoodrich TriGard shell (it has three layers of polyester) and 33% stronger flank cords than the previous Mud-Terrain T / A KM tire. These improvements allow more grip and greater protection of the flank, as well as greater strength and resistance to dents caused by rocks and difficult roads. A heel or single-strand hoop wire (is continuously rolled up to the desired strength) improves the tire adjustment to the wheel, which improves the uniformity and quality of the ride.

The tires of the Maximum Off-Road Traction category have the symbol M + S (mud and snow) and are capable of removing snow, but their large size and the absence of small grooves (known as sipes) on the surface of the blocks or tacos, can present a challenge in winter traction on compacted snow or ice surfaces.
